Avondvierdaagse

Last week we closed the theme called “Vertel ‘t maar” (Tell me all about it) with a fashion parade in co-operation with Ukkepukkies. The children looked so very nice. Our final theme has everything to do with summer. In the course of this week, we will be offering the children many words that will be related to the summer season. At home you could practice using Squla or even use Juf Jannie’s app with the theme “the sea”, for only €2,99
Extra:
In the groups 4 and 5 Ms Marianne will support the groups by working in small groups and in 6 and 7 Ms Hilda and Ms Simone (who work with the infants for plusklas on Fridays) will support the children by working in small groups on subjects like taal and rekenen. Marlou (who works on the plusklas for groups 3 and 4)and Lidia have, so far, been working with group 8 (on begrijpend lezen and rekenen). Since the children of group 8 are now busy preparing their musical and their final tests, they have stopped working with them.
Group 7
During the last month, group 7 has no longer been separated. So, the group is with Ms Debby on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Group 8 will have their farewell musical on Tuesday 7th July and will be at school for the last time on Wednesday morning. This means, that they have an extra day off school, of which the parents will be informed through a separate letter.
Strandspelen games/sport activities at the beach
We would like to end this year in a sportive manner, on the beach. Monday 29th June and Tuesday 30th June, children of all groups (1-8) will be joining in the strandspelen. We are looking for parents who are willing to help out guiding infants with the games on the beach on Monday morning. For Tuesday morning, we could use extra help for groups 3, 4 and 5 and in the afternoon (between 12.30pm and 2.30pm) for children of bovenbouw (groups 6,7 and 8). In order to make these days succesful we need quite a lot of parents. We hope that many of you would be willing to help us out and for nice weather, but even with a little rain we will continue with the games.
Please contact the group teacher if you are interested in helping us out. Thank you in advance.
Avondvierdaagse: We would like to thank everyone who helped us out in a faboulous way.
The Historisch Festival Scheveningen
Scheveningen village will be turned into a historic festival on Saturday, 22nd August. In and around streets like Keizerstraat and its shopping area will be turned into an open air theatre. An event in which you will be able to walk down memory lane (between 18th century until 1980s). Many activities have been planned throughout the festival area, for instance, tableaux vivants (paintings that come alive), people walking around in historic clothes and music performances.
The festival will be opened by Bobbie (a character from tv programme “Ernst, Bobbie and the rest!”)
The festival organisers are looking for parents and children who will be willing to play a small part in one of many tableaux (for instance, an old school class, a large family of fishermen from around 1920s, a soup kitchen, etc).
Should your child want to take part in this festival he or she could borrow the clothes we used on 30th November 2013 at the memorials Landing of the Prince.
If you are interested in additional information, please check out the festival’s website: www.historischfestivalscheveningen.nl. Applications for volunteers can be done through the email address: vrijwilligers@historischfestivalscheveningen.nl. We hope for many applications, for a successful and beautiful festival! On behalf of the organisation of the Historic festival Scheveningen, Marlies Woudstra
“Ukkepukkies”
Like we informed you earlier, we will be making a school trip on Friday 26th June next.
Please make note of our school trip in your agenda.
Date: Friday 26th June next
Location: Geitenboerderij “t Geertje”
Address: Geerweg 7 te 2381 LT Zoeterwoude
time: 9.45 tot 11.30 uur.
The trip will be free of charge. Coffee or tea can be bought at the farm, and will be for your own account. For the children the play groups will take care of a small snack. (During our visit to boerderij ‘t Geertje it is not possible to eat or drink any consumptions brought from home).
New theme
On 15th June, we like to start with our final theme called “oef wat warm!” (It is really warm). You will be informed separately through a letter, but for now we have the schedule for spelinloop activities.
Monday, 15th June, for all groups during their own day part.
Friday 26 June school trip for all groups. Every child needs to have one guide during the entire visit. We need you to bring and take your child to the farm . Additional information can be found above.
Tuesday 30 June teachers’ day. All children attend the groups together, during the first part of the day we would appreciate if parents could stay. Please note this in your agenda 
Teachers’day at the Ukkepukkies
Like every year, the teachers like to celebrate their birthdays together! This will take place on 30 June next. We would like it if all children could come to school all dressed up! This year’s theme will be all about summer. If all children could come to school dressed in white with a touch of summer. Think of coloured flowers in the hairs, flower garlands, a blouse in Hawaiian look or many other things you could think of. The children will have the afternoon off.
Sign-in list for cleaning
The end of the school year is approaching rather quickly, and some of you know that we like to ask parents to help us out cleaning our materials in the group. As usual, we will create a sign-in list which we will hang up at the group doors as of mid-June. Please ask the teacher, if you cannot find the list.
Kinder EHBO (First aid for children)
On 29th September we like to organise an evening particularly for parents of our spelenderwijs group: Kinder EHBO (First aid for children). Approximately 20 persons can apply for the evening, which means that we have about 5 places available for every group. It is possible to make an exta list with back-up. Forthis class, we will create a sign-in list as well, which will be hung up at the group as of end of June. Take note: limited amount of places available!
Our very last school day, before the summer holiday, will be on Thursday 9th July. Afterwards, all toddlers will be able to enjoy summer holiday!
Contest – Het Punt, Prinses Julianakerk
In the Bible, life of religious persons is being compared with a contest. Jezus is also being compared with a front-rank man and a fulfiller in the Jewish Bible book. In other words, Jesus is the trainer and also the one to return to. This type of metaphor is what Arjo van der Steen would like to explain on 14th June at “Het Punt”.
Het Punt is initiated by the church Prinses Julianakerk (located at Tesselsestraat) In a relaxed atmosphere, this church would like to revive the Christian message. Next Sunday as of 12.30pm, the church would like to invite young and old (both parents with their children) to come together at community centre Ons Centrum, located at Tesselsestraat 59. As of 1pm the theme will be explained. The church also offers a separate programme for the children. Afterwards, you can have a nice sandwhich. Do not hesitate to visit http://hetpunt.net/ for additional information or using phone 06-5555 3373.
