ERopuit
Infants
Last Friday, we started with the new theme called Eropuit together with Ukkepukkies. Ms Jenny and Ms Lotte spent their morning camping on the school yard, they forgot time and slept part of that morning! After breakfast and some exercises they were able to start with their day. In the group we play many games to refresh and improve the children’s memory. It is possible to practice this at home as well. For instance with the game called “we are going outside and see goats. We are going outside and see goats and cows. We are going out and see goats, cows and …” Memory and a game of kwartet are nice examples of games that can be played.
Easter celebrations
We like to celebrate Easter on Thursday 2nd April. We will all be walking to church in a parade at 8.30 am and back to school again, afterwards. We would appreciate it if you could walk with us next to the line and help us crossing the streets. We will be offered a nice lunch in Easter style after which we will be searching for Easter eggs at the Mallemok, which is where you will be able to pick up the children of infant groups at 2pm. (located at Westduinweg 38d/40)
The Oranje school choir
Our Oranje choir had been practicing a lot.
Reminder
Dogs are not allowed in our school, and at the school yard neither. When your child has a speech on the topic of his or her pet, we like to make an exception.
Buying lunch cards
Ms Hannie is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The only days possible to buy lunch cards in the kitchen upstairs.
Easter
On Thursday 2nd April we like to celebrate Easter in church and at school. The children will all be expected at school at 8.30 am and we like to walk to church together (you will walk along, won´t you?). We like to welcome you to join in the celebrations in church. In church we like to start at 9.00am with the celebrations. Afterwards at school we will be able to enjoy a nice lunch in Easter style. All children spend their lunch hour at school, since school will be out at 2pm, when children will start with their Easter weekend, which is a little longer since the children have the day off on 7th April (the teachers have a study day). Other study days (days off) will be 1st May and 18th May.

Could you return the special envelope (containing money or pictures) in the course of this week to the group teacher!
The MR is searching for a new member (MR lid)!!
What is MR exactly?
The MR is a body in which parents and team members of Oranjeschool like to think about issues regarding the school and its education.
Do you think it is important to have your voice being heard and co-operate with the school? In that case this will be something for you.
With the newsletter (on paper) you will receive a letter to apply for the ´job´. We hope for lots of response. Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact the current MR members.
Skills for kids
On 2nd April next, the lesson for Street Dance will not continue. The parents will be welcome to watch the final half hour of the lesson that will be given on 9th April next.
Theme evening: “Social Media” in community centre called Ons Centrum, located at Tesselsestraat 59.
The Prinses Julianakerk has a youth council that likes to organise a special evening on 16th April, for parents of children and teenagers in particular. The theme will be: social media and the use of it by (your) children. In the past 10 years, the world changed quite drastically, since social media emerged. As a parent you are being confronted with different questions. What is normal with my child or teenager? Is it still possible to limit my child? What to do when my child still receives (Whats app)messages on his or her phone when he or she is supposed to be sleeping at night.
Björn van Veelen will come to community centre Ons Centrum to inform you on this topic. He will be able inform you on what social media mean for children and or teenagers and how to deal with different ages. This night, Björn will also give advice to parents and or people who guide children and how to deal with social media in a positive way.
It will probably be an interesting evening.
Everyone who is interested is welcome to attend the evening at community centre Ons Centrum, located at Tesselsestraat 59. Should you be interested in additional information, do not hesitate, just contact Arjo van der Steen, who is the church contact for youth issues. He can be contacted by phone with number 06-55553373 or through email with: arjo.pjk@gmail.com
A short introduction of that night’s speaker:
“My name is Björn van Veelen. At the moment I work at a national organisation with youth. I also work as a teacher at a VMBO school. In my day-to-day life I deal with social media a lot. During this evening, I would like to find answers to the questions you might have on the topic. How does a child/ teenager deal with social media? How do parents guide them? Furthermore, I would like to point out the dangers of social media but I would also like to take a closer look at the positive sides of it. The advantages for your child and the positive effects of social media on your child. In short, an evening that parents in these days really need to attend!”
Practical and theoretical traffic exams group 7 Children attending group 7 (children of Taalklas as well) will be practicing exams by bike on 17th April, which means that everyone needs to come to school by bicycle. We would like to ask parents who will be able to cycle along with the children to contact the group teacher. The theoretical part of the exams will be on Thursday 16th April. Make sure you practice well. It would be best if everyone could pass at once! VVN developed a nice app for tablet computer to make practicing for the theoretical part easier and more fun. A nice way to practice interactively with smart phone or tablet computer. We like to wish everyone lots of fun practicing. The official practical part of the exams will be on 26th May next. It goes without saying that the children will need the bicycle on that day as well. We like to ask parents to assist on that day as well, please contact the group teacher if that would be possible for you. Thank you in advance.
