The final tests for CITO are over now and at the moment, all we need to do is wait for the results. In order to celebrate we went bowling with the group 8 children. Afterwards, we went to have dinner. (steengrillen) It was nice to be together with their group teacher and a number of team members. The children enjoyed a sportive competition for the highest scores. Tuesday 5th July, will be the farewell evening with the musical in school and then they will no longer be school members!
Circus Kristal
Last Monday, we enjoyed the circus very much so. The children did their very best. We had no idea we had so many acrobats in our school. Quite a number of pictures have been placed on our website and we like to thank all the parents, friends and other relatives who helped us out making it a wonderful day for the children.
School photographer Tuesday, the pictures were taken and everyone looked very nice. The pictures will be quite amazing. Unfortunately, we could not make any group pictures outside because of the weather. After the May holiday, the children will receive the envelope with pictures. Are interested in keeping the pictures, please return the envelope with fit money in the very same week, and if not please return the entire envelope (without opening the special seal).
School trip
A quite special school trip this time, due to the weather. I am afraid we do not have any control over the weather. We did, however, manage to make it a nice day with help of all the parents!!!
Unfortunately, we did not receive all payments. Please do so as soon as possible, if you have not done it yet.
Group 5
It is too bad that we have to say goodbye to Mr Harm Berger, who will no longer be involved in teaching and so he will leave our school as well. After the May holiday, Ms Kim Vreugdenhil will be there for the children to finish the school year. The children will be able to get acquainted with her through a short movie in which she introduced herself.
VakantiepasClub May holiday
Another holiday, May holiday! Members of VakantiepasClub need not to be bored, since the creators of the summer edition composed a number of cool activities for the children. Children attending elementary schools in The Hague, will be able to enjoy a high tea, for instance at café Juni, do some gardening or visit Madurodam. The children who are sportive will even be able to enjoy boxing or climbing a large wall. Check out the internet site for additional information of the activities. www.vakantiepas.nl is the link where children can become member free of charge when your child is not a member just yet. Otherwise, children receive an email about two weeks before every school holiday with discount coupons and a link to the website where all the activities are being described.
Dutch classes
After May holiday, the Dutch classes will start again. Mondriaan has been able to find a new teacher for the lessons.
Homework guidance For group 8 homework guidance have been terminated. Group 7 will still continue until the last few weeks in May.
Bicycles
Children of groups 7 and 8 need to make use of the bicycle racks next to the school. The bicycles at the large school yard need to be put in the racks correctly.
Calling Please make sure to call before school hours or as soon as possible. When visiting a GP or other doctor, please make sure the teacher has a copy of the appointment.
Lunch cards and payments
Lunch cards are still available with Ms Hanny every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We really appreciate it when you make payments through your bank account using NL65ABNA0580598128. Please remember to mention your child’s name, group and of course that the amount is meant for overblijf. It is cheaper to pay for the entire year; for bovenbouw this will be an amount of €180.00 and for onderbouw €140.00. For 6 months the amounts will be €90.00 and €70.00. It is no longer possible to pay for one separate time. A card of, for instance €5.00, will not lose its value for quite some time. When you paid for the entire year or for 6 months, we will inform the teacher. The teacher will also let you know until when the payments are due. In case of a giant arrear in payments we will inform you through a letter that you need to wipe off the arrears before your child could spend its lunch hour at school again.

Lost and found items
At the gymnastics hall a number of items are left behind; for instance jackets, bags, socks, gymnastics shoes and many more items. Please make sure you pick up the items belonging to your child(ren). Items that have not been picked up yet will be dropped off at the charity for clothes. (kledingbank or the Red Cross)

On 2nd May at Trefpunt, starting at 2.30pm (doors open at 1pm) Entrance fee for children €2 and for adults €4.
Music camp Solleveld Are you busy during the first week of your school holiday? (Between 11 and 15 July 2016) If not, do not hesitate to join for Solleveld’s music camp kamp for children of ages between 7 and 13 years. Surprising, fun and affordable. An adventure for you to experience. In 5 days we will introduce you with music and experimenting with that, dancing and singing outdoors. We also play games, are active in sports and explore the creativity. Location: camping site Solleveld. Located at Monsterseweg (close to Kijkduin). This site has big tents. This is a day camp, so children can be brought daily between 8.30am and 9.30am and can be picked up between 4.30pm and 5.00pm. The charges for this camp will be €85.00 per child for one week. Important dates:
17th May, after the school holiday, we will have a study day, on account of which the infant groups will be closed (just like the Oranjeschool)
In week 15 we want to plan the 10 minute conversations with parents. Lists for registration will be hung up at the group doors.
Tuesday 24th May, the play groups will be closed in the morning; the teachers will be busy doing a course in the morning, and in the afternoon, the play groups will be open as usual.
Wednesday 1st June, the playgroups will also be closed on account of a course the teachers will be doing.
