Holiday
Like we say every year, another year has gone by so fast. By now, the holiday is almost there. Tomorrow, at noon will be the start of this year’s summer holiday. By now, the children of group 2 have been able to get to know their new group 3 teacher. Ms Joyce, who is for some of the children, a familiar face. By the skin of one’s teeth we succeeded in finding a new teacher for group Zeehondjes, since Ms Saskia will stop working at school. The Mondays will be covered by Ms Astrid and Ms Patricia Zijlstra will be the teacher for the other days.
We like to thank Ms Saskia, and hope that her children will not miss her too much. We wish her all the best in her new job, which is at an insurance company.
Ms Ilse can be found at group Zeesterren every Friday morning.
After the summer holiday, Ms Leonie will still be in school with group 3 together with Ms Joyce during the first week, after which, she will be able to enjoy her maternity leave.
Ms Kim will replace Ms Debby in group 7, who will be able to enjoy her maternity leave and afterwards, her lovely new-born baby.
Ms Hanny would like to thank everyone for the nice gifts, drawings, flowers and so much more. Together with colleagues, parents and children we collected a nice amount, which we will hand over to Hanny, so she will be able to shop in the hours she will be off. We wish her lots of fun and want to thank her for everything she did for our school during the past 21 years.
Lost
Two jackets disappeared during the past week. One is a boy’s jacket (blue jeans) that disappeared from the infant group and another is a girl’s jacket (black leather, with metal zippers) that disappeared from group 4-5. Perhaps, someone has the wrong jacket at home. Please bring it back tomorrow. We do hope that we do not need any jackets during the holiday. That way, we all get to enjoy a nice holiday, particularly in Scheveningen. Of course we would like to welcome everyone again on Monday 22nd August, since by then the holiday will be over.
Group 8
We all enjoyed the musical. The children in group 8 were able to have a nice farewell party with a barbecue. So nice to meet so many (grand)parents who stayed for the musical and even enjoyed the drinks afterwards. We wish the children of group 8 lots of fun and good luck in their new school.

Wednesday 6 July, will also be the day that the report cards will be given to children. We will not have discussions for this report card. If you feel like you need to talk to the teacher about it, you are welcome to contact the teacher for a conversation. In some cases, the teacher will contact parents to clarify this report card.
CITO Tests: Entreetoets
The results have been discussed with children of group 7.
We also received the test results for group 6. You will receive these with the report cards. Should you appreciate to talk to the teacher, please do so at the start of the new school year.
High spirited children with the VakantiePas (holiday pass)
The Vakantie pass gives children a chance to discover their living environment by stimulating them and enabling them to participate in ‘new’ activities. Activities can be visited with a discount and have been divided over many fields like for instance, art and culture, sports and recreation, nature and environment and human beings and their environment. This summer the children have the chance to win a bicycle or free entrance tickets to Duinrell. All information can be found in the brochure.
On the internet site vakantiepas.nl you will find additional information and changes that were not mentioned in the brochure. Last week, the children all received a pass!
The passage of group 2 to 3
All the children did their very best; they all made it to group 3. It was quite a tour and even a little warm. So nice that so many parents were there to cheer for the children.

Lost and found items – At the gymnastics hall, several items are being left behind. For instance, jackets, bags, socks and gymnastics shoes and many more. Please make sure to pick up the items belonging to your child(ren). Items that have not been picked up yet, will be dropped off at the charity for clothes (kledingbank or the Red Cross)
Swimming
Monday 29th August, will be the first swimming lesson for groups 5, 5-6 and 6. After the holiday, we will inform you about the times, but if you could help us out by being a guide to the swimming lessons, please let us know. The more parents we have to approach, the better, since we could then start making a schedule. Please contact the group teachers, when you are interested in helping us out.
Gymnastics – In the first week of the new school year, we will inform you about the new schedule. Monday 22nd August the children will not have gymnastics lessons or swimming lessons.
Ukkepukkies – Thursday 7th July, will be the final school day.
We can look back at a busy school year, but we learned quite a lot and had fun while we were busy.
Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to a number of children, who will start their very first year at elementary school (basisschool) after the summer holiday. We wish them all the best! We want to thank the parents who trusted us with their children and wish everyone a nice holiday.
The teachers like to meet all toddlers again on Monday 22nd August next.
We have two important dates for the new school year:
Monday 19th September – the play groups will be closed on account of a study day.
Monday 26th September, in the afternoon, when the groups will also be closed.
