school trip

School trip:
Everyone enjoyed the annual school trip very much and we all safely returned to Scheveningen to start with a wonderful May holiday. It is good to see that everyone enjoys being back at school again.
Groups 7&8
The children of groups 7 and 8 enjoyed a nice day with the quest and other nice activities. In the course of this week the children of group 8 will receive the results of the final tests for CITO.
Thursday, 21st May, we have planned a disco for children of groups 7 and 8!! The children get some time to relax, since the children of group 7 have finished their CITO tests and the children of group 8 faced their final tests for CITO. Between 7.30 and 9.30pm, for which all children need to be picked up by 9.30pm.
We like to wish them lots of fun. The next day, we like to offer the children time to sleep-in; they get to start with school between 9.30am and 10am.
The 4 nights’ walk (Avondvierdaagse) Between 1st and 4th June, our school will join in the annual 4 nights’ walk like we do every year. Every night we like to walk about 5 kilometres and start at swimming pool the Blinkerd. With this newsletter we like to provide you with additional information.
Buying lunch cards
Ms Hannie is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; the only days for buying lunch cards, in the kitchen upstairs.
FREE WORKSHOP: homework guidance for parents
How to guide your child when doing homework? A practical workshop with tips taken care of by AFTER’S COOL and initiated by CJG.
In this workshop a number of questions will be answered, like:
– What skills will be handy in the introductory year at secondary education?
– How to learn for topics like French, history or math?
– How do I teach my child to plan?
It goes without saying that there will be plenty of opportunity to ask any other questions! An interesting workshop meant for parents / care-takers of children in the ages of 11 – 13 years old.
When: Wednesday 20th May 2015 Time: Between 8.30 and 9.30 pm Where: CJG Scheveningen located at Scheveningseweg 56 a Applications: scheveningen@cjgdenhaag.nl

Practical and theoretical traffic exams for group 7
The official practical part of the exams will be on 26th May next. It goes without saying that children will need the bicycle on that day as well. We like to ask parents to assist on that day as well, please contact the group teacher if that would be possible for you. Thank you in advance. The children already participated in the theoretical exams. Congratulations to everyone who achieved their official diploma. For those who need to do the exams again, they have that possibility on Thursday 21st May.
Lice check
Hooray free of lice. Unfortunately not free of nits. The regarding groups already received a letter earlier and the groups will receive extra checks. Keep on checking regularly! (and comb the hairs wet?) The next check up will take place on Wednesday 3rd June next. Quite often our school is free of lice. This is possible, since parents check the children’s hairs, and……………….. the monthly checks at school. Perhaps you would be willing to help us out checking the children’s heads, please contact our school’s management or OR members. For next Friday, we have scheduled and extra check-up, we hope we will be able to announce that the school is free of lice and nits.
Ukkepukkies
In the course of this week, we will start with the theme called Dit ben ik! (This is me)
The theme will be about who you are, what you look like and our body parts. We would like to make it a nice theme and hope to learn a lot. It goes without saying, that we would like to involve you in the theme, with the familiar activities for spelinloop, which we planned in the schedule below.
Activities for spelinloop related to the theme: Dit ben ik!
Thursday 21st May, for all groups voor alle groepen.
Wednesday 27th May, for the red group voor de rode groep
Friday 29th May, for the yellow and blue groups.
Tuesday 2nd June, for all groups.
We hope to see you then!
We would really like to visit goat farm “t Geertje” for our school trip. We asked you to return the fill strips with your consent, which we, unfortunately, did not receive for all the children, yet. Could you please let us know through the fill strips whether your child will be able to go with us on the school trip? This way we will be able to confirm our visit at the farm. We like to thank you in advance.
England in The Hague…
Meeting for information on 4th June between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.
This summer, Anglia organises another English summer school in The Hague between 17th and 21st August. In a weeks time we like to provide children in ages of 10-18 with a boost in their English through an intensive programme in English lessons and other activities.
We want to inform you about the summer week to improve the English language. On Thursday 4th June we like to inform participants, their parents and other people who are interested. We would like to welcome everyone. The meeting will be held at Hofstad Lyceum, located in The Hague at Colijnplein 9, which is also the place where the summer school will be held.
A large number of international students will participate in several of our 23 locations, possibly also in The Hague. We have the possibility for participants to be staying with guest families. Usually Dutch families who receive a compensation when they house one or even more guests in their home.
During the meeting we would like to inform you on this, as well.
Registrations for the English summer week can be done through our website. We already received a number of registrations for the week. Please e-mail us on summer@anglianetwork.eu if you will join the meeting.
Kind regards,
Angela Koopal – van der Heijden, Coordinator for summer School
