Newsletter 23rd June 2015

VERjaardagLidia
So close to the holiday; only a few weeks to go. For the children this means that they still have a number of tests to do and work on their final assignments. For that matter, the weather is really nice, so we get to work a little bit more during the last few weeks.
Group 7 During the final month group 7 has no longer been split up. So both Monday and Tuesday all in one group with Ms Debby.
Group 8 Group 8 will have their farewell musical on Tuesday 7th July and they will be at school for the last time on Wednesday morning. This means, that they have an extra day off school.
Games on the beach
We would like to end this year in a sportive manner, on the beach. Monday 29th June and Tuesday 30th June, children of all groups (1-8) will be joining in the strandspelen (games on the beach). We are looking for parents who are willing to help out guiding infants with the games on the beach on Monday morning. For Tuesday morning, we could use extra help for groups 3, 4 and 5 and in the afternoon (between 12.30pm and 2.30pm) for children of bovenbouw (groups 6,7 and 8). In the course of this week, we would like to inform you in which group you have been classified with and what time we will expect you. We could use quite a number of parents who would be willing to guide children of groups 3-8 Please contact the group teacher if you are interested in helping us out. Thank you in advance.
Report cards
On Wednesday 8th July all children of groups 1-8 will receive their report cards, which the teacher will discuss with the children. In case you would still like to speak to the teacher, please contact the group teacher on time. If the group teacher would like to have a conversation with you, you will receive an invitation from the teacher.
Historic Festival Scheveningen
Scheveningen village will be turned into a historic festival on Saturday, 22nd August next. The streets around Keizerstraat and its shopping area will be turned into an open air theatre. An event in which you will be able to walk down memory lane (between 18th century until 1980s).
Many activities have been planned throughout the festival area, for instance, tableaux vivants (paintings that come alive), people walking around in historic clothes and music performances.
The festival will also be opened by Bobbie (a character from TV programme “Ernst, Bobbie and the rest!”) The festival organisers are looking for parents and children who will be willing to play a small part in one of many tableaux (for instance; in an old school class, in a large family of fishermen
from around 1920s, a soup kitchen, etc). Should your child want to take part in this festival he or she would be able to borrow the clothes we used on 30th November 2013 at the Landing of the Prince memorials. If you are interested in additional information, please check out the festival website: www.historischfestivalscheveningen.nl. Applications for volunteers can be done through the email address: vrijwilligers@historischfestivalscheveningen.nl. We hope for many applications, in order to the festival to succeed. On behalf of the festival organisers Historic Festival Scheveningen.

The playgroups will take care of a small snack for the children. (consumptions brought from home cannot be used during our visit to the farm t Geertje)
Theme: “Oef wat warm”. We have now been working on our theme for a week, the children like it and enjoy the activities in which they explore! In these pictures you can see the children being busy with shaving foam.
Our schedule for (spelinloop)activities:
Friday 26th June; school trip for all groups of Ukkepukkies. Every child needs to have a guide, please make sure you go to the farm on your own. Additional information can be find above.
Tuesday 30th June, juffendag at Ukkepukkies. In the morning all children can come and during the first part (until 9.15am) parents can join. Please note this in your agenda. 
Juffendag (Ukkepukkies)
Like every year, we like to celebrate our Juffendag! All teachers celebrate their birthday! They would like to do this on 30th June next. All groups will be invited to the party, and we hope they will be dressed up! Our party has a theme and this year, it is summer (Zomer). We would appreciate that all children would be dressed in white with a touch of summer. Think of a coloured flower in the hair, a flower garland, a blouse in Hawaii print etc. In the afternoon the children will all be off. The morning will be until 11.30am and you can pick up your child again.
Sign in list for cleaning (schoonmaken) (at Ukkepukkies) This school year is almost over and like many of you know we always ask parents to help us out cleaning the groups. This year we like to ask you as well. Please make use of the sign-in list for cleaning, if you could help us out. We will hang up the list in the hall! So far, we have not received so many parents who are willing to help us out. We could use all the help, please fill in the sign-in list ASAP.
First aid for children (at Ukkepukkies) On 29th September we like to take care of a class on first aid for children for parents of children attending the group spelenderwijs. A maximum of 20 persons can apply for the class, meaning that we only have place for 5 parents of every group. When the list is full, please write your name on the spare list. The sign in list will be created and hung up in the hall as of this week. Remember: vol=vol!
Our final school day before the holiday will be on Thursday 9th July. Holiday afterwards!
